Oliver meets his cousins!

This weekend, Oliver finally was able to meet his cousins. Johnathan, Josh, and Andrew were absolutely adorable with him. Joshua especially seemed excited about Oliver. At first they all seemed shy around him, not sure how to hold him or talk to him. They took a minute to warm up but each took a turn to hold him and ask questions about him. They were making faces at him and talking to him in no time. It was really fun to watch them with him, a good warm up before their baby sister gets here!

24

Oliver's first Saint Patrick's Day, also happened to be my 24th birthday. It was a quiet birthday but a good one just the same, I had my little boy after all! Dan worked all day and after he got home we just went out to dinner, came home and just relaxed. It was perfect!

Two years and counting!

Two years ago I walked across a rose covered lawn on a beautiful spring afternoon. The cherry trees that surrounded the garden were in full bloom and there wasn't a cloud in the sky. It was the perfect setting for a perfect wedding! Two years ago, surrounded by friends and family, I made the most important promise of my life, I Jeanna took Daniel, to be my husband. To have and to hold, in sickness and in health, for richer or for poorer, and I promised my love to him forevermore. It was and will forever be the best promise I have ever made. Daniel to this day still makes butterflies in my stomach. He is the most caring and loving person I have ever met and I am so thankful that somehow I am fortunate enough to have him as my husband. He is the best husband and father, better than I could have ever hoped or prayed for. Happy anniversary Daniel,  I love you with all my heart and I am so grateful that you are my partner through this crazy life!

Oliver's Room

I meant to post pictures sooner but never actually did it. Here are some pictures of Oliver's nursery..

Dan actually refinished that rocking chair, it used to be my mom's but than my dad painted it and put it out on his porch where eventually it started to fall apart. He gave it to my sister who gave it to me. Dan did an amazing job, you would never guess it was in horrible shape before he got his hands on it.

Getting big fast!

Our precious little boy is already getting so big so fast! He can  hold his head up pretty well and is starting to show us his amazing little smile. Looking into his big blue eyes I am amazed that my heart is big enough to hold all the love I feel for this little guy. It seems like when your child is born  an entirely new part of you is born too. A part that is completely captivated by this tiny person, A part that is braver and stronger but weaker all at the same time. I feel more vulnerable, maybe because I have a new reason to live. Dan even decided to start wearing a helmet while skateboarding just because he always wants to be here for Oliver. Our entire out look on life has changed drastically, as it should, but I am still surprised by the magnitude of it all. Nothing anyone could have ever told Dan or I could have prepared us for how awesome parenthood is. It is truly the best gift we have ever been given and we will never stop thanking God for such an amazing blessing!

Meet Oliver

Tomorrow marks the end of Oliver's first month. The past month has been a whirlwind of visits from family and friends. Dan and I are adjusting to parenthood, it isn't easy but it is definitely the most rewarding  job  either of us have ever had. He is the most amazing miracle either of us have ever witnessed. What a blessing having a child is, nothing is more humbling or encouraging. Here are some pictures of Oliver meeting his family!
